MDA promotions are delighted to announce that Fermacell have today sponsored PDC professionals Dean Winstanley and Daryl Gurney on a 12-month contract.
The two players, who regularly travel together, were unveiled this afternoon at a fun-packed launch in Birmingham where Fermacell clients and employees took on the professionals hosted by top TV MC Paul Booth.
Gary Carter, general manager of Fermacell UK, commented: “Professional darts is a sport that is very relevant to our key market of building trade professionals and we have been searching for the right partnership for some time. I firmly believe that MDA have come up with a winning formula and look forward to both Dean and Daryl wearing the Fermacell logo in many successful tournaments.”
World number 26 Dean Winstanley stated: “To have a massive company like Fermacell backing me makes me proud and determined to break into the top 16 in the world and win my maiden PDC title.”
Northern Irishman Daryl “Dude” Gurney, who is eyeing up a world cup place alongside Brendan Dolan, said: “I am now starting to play how I can. The first two years in the PDC were very tough but I feel more comfortable in my own skin now and I know I can compete and beat the very best in the world and to have such great backing just gives me more motivation to achieve my goals.”

Fermacell gypsum fibreboard was first developed in 1971 and since then has become the obvious choice across Europe for high-performance dry-lining projects. Combining the strength of solid blockwork with the flexibility of dry-lining, the acoustic, fire, moisture, impact and load-hanging performance place Fermacell in a category of its own.
Subsequent product development has created the Fermacell flooring system and the Fermacell Powerpanel cementitious board H2O and HD, all underpinned by the same passion for quality and well-engineered solutions as the original Fermacell.
Today, Fermacell is part of the Xella International group, a multi-national business with 92 factories in 19 countries across the world. The Fermacell product range is manufactured from recycled materials in five of those factories – three in Germany and one each in the Netherlands and Spain.
With sales operations across Europe and one in the Middle East, Fermacell products are used in construction projects from Aberdeen to Sicily and from Madrid to Warsaw. UK and international case studies demonstrate that construction industry professionals across Europe understand and value Fermacell as the “ultimate building board”.
