After a disappointing couple of days in Barnsley for our players in the last two pro tour events, Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett put a smile back on our faces with a fantastic performance in the PDPA World Championship qualifiers – winning through a strong field to gain a first round place at the 2013 World Championships.
His win over John Bowles in the final means that all three of our players, which also includes Dean Winstanley and Justin Pipe, will play on the Alexandra Palace stage in front of thousands of fans, and hundreds of thousands of Sky Sports viewers.
Kellett overcame Adam Hunt, Ian Moss, Brian Woods, Mark Hylton, Bernd Roith and Terry Temple to secure his place in the World Championship.
“When the Grand Slam was on and Sky Sports were playing the adverts with fans singing ‘stand up if you love the darts’, it had the hairs on my arms standing up. Bring it on – I can’t wait!” – Stuart Kellett
Stuart and fellow qualifier on the day John Bowles will now complete the 72-player field for the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship, which will be held at London’s Alexandra Palace from December 14-January 1.
