Dean Winstanley celebrates a win on the big stage

Team MDA darts pros Justin Pipe and Dean Winstanley travelled to Austria this weekend for the first PDC European Tour event, a three day knock-out tournament with a £15,000 top prize.

Justin qualified through being inside the top 32 in the world (20th at the time of the event), and Dean qualified through a qualification event in Barnsley.

Both did MDA proud, with Dean getting to round 3, beating Paul Nicholson and Jim Walker on the way, losing to ex world champion Richie Burnett.

Justin showed just why he’s feared as one of the best floor players in the world, by going on a run all the way to the final, and then beating James Wade 6-3 once there, to take the £15,000, which pushes him up into the top 16 in the world!  The Force beat three of the top ten in the world; Gary Anderson, Raymond van Barneveld, and James.  He also beat the local player, Austrian Mensur Suljovic, and young talent Joe Cullen.
