Team MDA in Berlin; PDC European Tour Results

Dean vs Mark Walsh

Dean vs Mark Walsh

Two of our darts professionals headed out to Berlin this weekend for the 2nd PDC European Tour event of 2012, with both Justin Pipe and Dean Winstanley making the journey.

These Euro Tour events are very important to rankings, as they offer much larger prizes for success than the standard UK floor events.  With Dean Winstanley hoping to qualify for the World Matchplay to join Justin, just making the event was a bonus, as only the top 32 and 20 lucky UK qualifiers get the chance.

Dean added £1,000 to his yearly winning so far (already some £10,500 in 2012 and 68th in the World), and Justin had another good weekend, adding another £3,000 to his tally.  As Dean has only recently joined the PDC, his world ranking (which runs over two years money earned) is not a true reflection of his talent;  his 20th in the player championship order of merit is much more a reflection of his year so far.

Round 1:
Dean Winstanley 6-5 Mark Walsh
Justin Pipe 6-4 Michael van Gerwen

Round 2:
Dean Winstanley 5-6 Michael Mansell
Justin Pipe 6-4 Andy Smith

Round 3:  Justin Pipe 6-4 Co Stompe

1/4 final:  Justin Pipe 3-6 Wes Newton

All three of MDA’s players have qualified for the third Euro Event in July, with Stuart Kellett joining in the race for rankings £s.
